Chicago gets the first “Saved By the Bell” diner

and hopefully not the last one!

Earlier this year, it was announced that Chicago would be getting a Saved by the Bell-themed pop-up diner. Details were scant, with little information accompanying the announcement.

That’s no longer the case.

Derek Berry, the brains behind Saved by the Max, has announced both a location and the date of the restaurant’s grand opening.

Saved by the Max will open on June 1st at 1941 W. North Avenue, in the Wicker Park neighborhood, and will be open a month (it is, after all, a pop-up diner). Tickets to the grand opening will be available for reservation on Friday, April 22 at www.savedbythemax.com.

To celebrate, they even got Max from Saved by the Bell — A.K.A. comedian Ed Alonzo — to announce the restaurant’s opening in a video, which you can see here: http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2016/04/19/saved-by-the-bell-themed-diner-announces-chicago-location-opening-date/
