Did you like Fight Club?

This story isn’t about Fight Club – but the author Chuck Palaniuk. He has (several other) another book called “Lullaby” and he wants it to come to the big screen.

Chuck Palahniuk, who has built a devoted cult following around such novels as “Fight Club,” “Choke,” “Haunted” as well as the offbeat travel guide, “Fugitives & Refugees: A Walk in Portland, Oregon,” may see his novel “Lullaby” turned into a movie, thanks to crowdfunding.

A Kickstarter campaign seeking $250,000 has been launched by Josh Leake, a producer, director and co-founder of the Portland Film Festival, and Andy Mingo, a producer and director. Mingo is married to writer Lidia Yuknavitch, who is in a writing group with Palahniuk.

Palahniuk is an executive producer of “Lullaby,” and will co-write the screenplay.

We first got hooked on Chuck’s novels in the late 90′s, like some of you. We’re fans first, and so like you, as directors and producers we want to make sure Lullaby is the film we all want it to be, and not some watered-down too easy commercial yawner.”

Contributors to the Kickstarter campaign get a variety of their own incentives, depending on how much money they put toward the cause. A $5 contribution gets a personalized library checkout card; $30 or more gets your name in the credits; $600 or more gets a customized “Lullaby” starling tattoo; and $2,000 or more lets you be an extra.

As we write this, the project has 224 backers, who have pledged $15,832 toward the $250,000 goal.  Read more here and see the kickstarter link:
