Taylor Swift: “I Can Keep My Wits About Me”
At 24-years-old, Taylor Swift has already sold millions of records and become a household name around the world. But even while she’s the focus of such international spotlight, she always stays true to herself and never lets the fame go to her head.
She tells Variety, “I have lot of goals, and one of them is to know when to stop. I love the sound of applause but I don’t want to become addicted to it in order to feel whole. It’s the creative part of music-making that I could never live without.”
And with so many different paths still left for her to follow in professional and personal life, she hopes to remain cognizant of who she is and why she does what she does. “As I grow older, I hope I can continue to rely on gut feelings and continue to be self-aware. Self-awareness is usually the first thing to go when people lose touch. So ideally I can keep my wits about me.”
Taylor is up for several Grammy Awards and will perform on he show Sunday night (January 26).
