Garth’s First Shows Back Will Be Overseas

If you want to see one of Garth Brooks’ first shows as he makes a return to touring you’ll need your passport.

Garth made a special announcement in Ireland yesterday (January 20) that he will give two performances in Dublin’s Croke Park in July. Calling it ‘The Garth Brooks Comeback Special Event,’ the shows will be in the same place he sold out two massive shows in 1997.

“Before we go back on tour in the Fall of 2014, I want to challenge myself, the band, and crew,” he said in a statement. “In ’97, we were lucky enough to play Croke Park, the stadium was under construction. 130,000-plus of some of the greatest fans in the world. I was quoted then as saying, ‘When this stadium is finished, I would love to come back and try to fill it again…this time to the brink’…and we’re back to do just that.”

Garth also has new music lined up for this year. He says one of the main challenges is how to handle distribution. Downloading is the way most people buy music now and he doesn’t have an agreement with iTunes as he doesn’t like to sell songs individually. so
