» FGL: From The McDonald’s Drive-Thru To the Top Of Country Music

Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley are featured on tonight’s edition of It’s hard to get hotter than Florida Georgia Line is. They’re about to break Brooks and Dunn’s record of having their first 5 songs hit number one, and to think it all started at a drive-thru. It’s one of things they talk about in CMT’s “Inside Fame” tonight.

They were students at Nashville’s Belmont University wondering what to do with their lives when the light went on, kind of. “Me and Brian were in his Tahoe on the way to a writing session,” Tyler says. “(We) stopped at McDonald’s to grab something to eat on the way. “We were about to graduate or just had graduated, and we were just kinda like ‘What are we gonna do, man?’  We were both sort of like, ‘Well, we don’t have much of a plan. I like this music thing. What do you want to do with that?’”

They decided to give it a couple years and obviously made the right choice. Tyler adds, “That’s kind of where it began…in the McDonald’s drive-thru, as crazy as that is.”

The episode premieres tonight at 9:00 (Thursday) and will re-air tomorrow (Friday) and Sunday at 9:00 a.m. on CMT.
