Kenny Chesney Readies ‘The Big Revival’

Posted on: June 30th, 2014 by Bo

Kenny Chesney released his new song, American Kids” to radio a little over a week ago and today released the video for it, so why not offer up more about what’s to come from him this summer.

Kenny says his next album, ‘The Big Revival’ will be released September 23. That’s a week earlier than the date he tweeted out at the end of May:

It was first thought that would be the date the new album would be released, but now, with the announcement of this date there’s speculation as to what will happen September 30. Only one person knows, and Kenny isn’t talking.

As for this album, Kenny has taken most of the year off to work on it, even saying at one point he felt he was done with it, only to scrap the whole thing and start over. “After all this time, if I can’t push myself and give the fans something that inspires them, that gets them pumped up, there’s no reason to just make a record to make a record.”

He says he also wanted this to stand out from what’s being heard on country radio these days.

“There’s so much more to country than trucks, creek beds and cut-offs,” he says, laughing. “That stuff is fun, but when you look at how people really dig in and work, the things they face every day, you wanna remind ‘em how hardcore they really are, show ‘em that and also show ‘em that you know there’s more to’em than people might think.”

Fan Wouldn’t Let Lightning Strike Keep Him From Carrie Underwood

Posted on: June 30th, 2014 by Bo

Some fans wouldn’t miss their favorite artist for anything and Carrie Underwood and Randy Houser found that out this past weekend in Wisconsin.

This past weekend, Country Fest was being held in Cadott, and Gage Stroening didn’t let a lightning strike, seizure, a hospital stay or a bad burn from a grill deter him from seeing his favorite artists.

According to Gage and witnesses, high winds knocked a neighboring camper’s tent into his grill, which was lit as he got ready to make lunch. He stepped on it, fell down, stood up and when he grabbed the metal framing alongside his camper it was hit by lightning. After a 4-hour hospital stay he was back at it with his arm in a sling and orders to take it easy.

He tells the Eau Claire Leader-Telegram he was down, but not out, after being injured. “It hurts to walk, but I’ve got pit passes to meet Randy Houser. I don’t have the energy like I did when I showed up, but I’m not missing these shows.” And he didn’t.

Lee Brice To Record With His Mom

Posted on: June 30th, 2014 by Bo

Lee Brice hasn’t even released his new album and he’s already looking ahead to his next project, although this will be one special and close to his heart.

He tells Rolling Stone he’ll take time in July to record a gospel album with his mom and her sisters. “My mom and all her sisters sang gospel music my whole life, and they’re amazing. They made a record in Nashville.”

He says he’s going to send a bus to South Carolina to get them and bring them to Nashville to record in his home studio. “We’re going to sing classic gospel songs and have them sing in the background. I cannot wait.”

As for plans to release it, he’s not saying. Either way, new music from Lee is on the way as his next album, ‘I Don’t Dance’ will be out September 9.

How Blake And Miranda Spend Their Weekends

Posted on: June 27th, 2014 by Bo

Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert don’t seem to be spending a lot of time with each other of late, with their busy schedules. But, when they are together, this is how they spend their time.

Miranda tells the Huffington Post, “We backroad — we take our cooler, we take our dogs, we ride four-wheelers and we just sit on the porch. We started fishing… That’s why we live where we live (Oklahoma). Because it’s absolutely opposite of our crazy life on the road.”

Why Would Gary LeVox’s Daughter Be Any Different?

Posted on: June 27th, 2014 by Bo

Gary LeVox of Rascal Flatts may be different from a lot of dad’s because he’s famous but that doesn’t keep him from having normal dad problems when it comes to his teenage daughter, Britney, who may be growing up a bit too fast for Gary.

He says she seems to have developed eyes for Luke Bryan. “On the bus she’s like, ‘Oh my gosh, Daddy look, Luke Bryan, look how tight his shirt is’, and she’s 13.”

But, she’s not alone. Gary’s bandmate Joe Don Rooney’s wife, “said the same thing today,” Jo Don admits.

Adds LeVox jokingly, “Yeah, it’s kinda weird. They both got a belt and they’re in time out.”

But, unlike with some teenage girls to try to distance themselves from their parents a bit, Gary says “We’re still cool and relevant at my house, which is good,” he says.
