Being ‘Touchy’ A Touchy Subject With Justin Moore

Posted on: February 26th, 2014 by Chris

Even though Justin Moore denies being a germaphobe, you get the impression that he is, kind of. For example, when he goes to Vegas for the ACM Awards in April, he says he won’t be wading into the hotel pool.

“My wife is excited about pool time. I’m not. I don’t do public pools,” he says. “I’m not really a germaphobe, but public pools to me are disgusting. I mean, you’re talking about urine that ain’t yours, you’re talking about every germ imaginable. It’s just gross to me. My wife can do it. It creeps me out.”

Among the other things that bother the ACM New Artist Finalist are what other people may have left behind in the water. “Band-Aids. You know, you’re swimming around, there’s somebody’s Band-Aid that fell off. I mean, they had it maybe around their ingrown toenail or something,” he says. “I can’t do it.”

“I won’t drink out of water fountains either.” Also on his “no” list, touching anything in the bathroom, which he admits can be a challenge at times because of his height. “In the bathroom, like the urinal, I kick the flusher, the handle. I don’t touch it with my hands, yeah, unless it’s real tall and then obviously I can’t reach it. My legs are not the longest in the world, but [I] do the elbow thing.”

Justin wants you to cast you (clean) vote for him for ACM New Artist of the Year at starting March 24th . The Academy of Country Music Awards will be handed out April 6th on CBS.

Country Stars Honoring Motley Crue

Posted on: February 25th, 2014 by Chris

They were one of the biggest bands from the mid-80′s to the early-90′s which means many of today’s country artists grew up hearing their music, which is why it’s no suprise they’re putting together a tribute album to Motley Crue.

Motley Crue’s Vince Neil says he was initially skeptical about the idea, but as he thought more about it, “the cooler it got.”  He says he was impressed with Carrie Underwood’s cover of “Home Sweet Home” she did for American Idol for Season 8, and it sparked his curiosity about how other country acts would interpret their music. Well, he’s about to find out.

Vince admits he’s not familiar with many of the names connected with the project, but says that’s changing thanks to his girlfriend. He calls her “a country girl,” explaining that she’s “a barrel rider in the rodeo.” So far the album will feature Justin Moore “Home Sweet Home”, Rascal Flatts’ adding “Kick Start My Heart,” the Eli Young Band offering a version of “Don’t Go Away Mad.” Florida Georgia Line, Brantley Gilbert, and Cassadee Pope are also on the hook.

A release date for the album hasn’t been announced yet but it’s expected sometime in the summer.

This takes the average guy 38 minutes a day to do…What?
Answer: Get ready in the morning (Real Body Image Survey)
Women spend an average of 55 minutes a day – that amounts to six and a half hours a week, or about two weeks a year! Women worry more about how they look than their finances, health, relationships or careers. Guys aren’t entirely innocent of self-obsession- men spend four and a half hours a week getting ready, which is about 38 minutes a day.

Playing the pre-race show Luke said “Growing up as a huge NASCAR fan, that was what we did, watch races on Sunday. My dad was a crazy Cale Yarborough fan. I’ve been a part of so many races through the years, but this is my first Daytona 500. I’m super excited about being here.”

Now Luke sets his sights on the release of his sixth ‘Spring Break’ EP March 11 along with a couple of shows in Panama City Beach.

Blake’s Push To Download Garth

Posted on: February 24th, 2014 by Chris

Earlier this month, Blake Shelton ranted on Twitter about not being able to download Garth Brooks’ music on iTunes. As a matter of fact, you can’t buy any of Garth’s songs to download, and he likes it that way.

It quickly became Blake’s most followed tweet and he argues Garth is “too important” to not have his music available to new generation fans.

“I just hate to think that there’s a generation that hasn’t discovered him yet, because he’s too important. He’s the reason that I wanted to be a country singer,” Blake says. “He’s the reason that I worked a summer and saved up to buy a black Takamine guitar with a cutaway on it. He’s that important to me, and I just hate to think that people can’t…get his music whenever they want to.”

He says, “My ultimate fear is, and I’ve had friends tell me that their kids didn’t know who Garth Brooks was, and that upsets me. I don’t like that.”

Garth is one of the few holdouts left that doesn’t allow his music to be downloaded, saying he’s always placed a high value on entire albums not just songs. With new music in the works Garth says he knows this is something that needs to be addressed, given the shrinking music sections in stores.

For now though, Blake will continue to be Garth’s biggest #frustratedfan.

Jake Owen To Play For The Military In A Familiar Place

Posted on: February 22nd, 2014 by Chris

Jake Owen is no stranger to a golf course and knows how to swing the clubs, but he’ll set them aside and perform at this year’s Player’s Championship in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL for Military Appreciation Day on May 7 .

“Performing for the military is always a true honor,” he says in a press release. “I admire what these men and women do to serve our country and I can’t wait to show my support.”

The performance will be on the TPC Sawgrass Clubhouse lawn and will wrap up a day full of special activities the tournament has planned for the men and women of the armed forces, who are given complimentary admission to the tournament.
